Last month LG officially announced the LG Watch Urbane 2, and following the popularity of the original version this smartwatch is likely to receive plenty of interest. The specs of the device were given at that time but there was no news on pricing or when it would be globally available. However, we now know that the LG Watch Urban 2 will release worldwide starting from this month.
One of the additions with the LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition is 4G LTE connectivity, and of course there are also some specs improvements. Specifications of the LG Watch Urbane 2 include a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 processor, and a 1.38-inch P-OLED display with resolution of 480 x 480 resulting in 348 ppi and featuring Gorilla Glass 3. RAM has been increased to 768MB while juicing power steps up to a 570 mAh battery.
As well as LTE, other connectivity options include 3G, WiFi, and Bluetooth 4.1. The LG Watch Urbane 2 runs the Android Wear OS that’s compatible with devices running Android 4.3 or later as well as iOS. However, LG points out that some cellular-enabled features may vary according to Android or iOS. The smartwatch has a stainless steel 316L body and is dust and water resistant to IP67 certification standards. Features include heart rate tracking, stress level monitoring, and workout tips, and the smartwatch measures 44.5mm x 14.2mm.
LG has now officially given further information about the availability of the device. The company has announced today that the release of the LG Watch Urbane 2 will begin rolling out in Korea and the US beginning in November. This will be followed over the coming months with releases in further key markets in Asia, Europe, and CIS regions, although no specific timeframe has been given.
The LG Watch Urbane 2 will be available in various color choices and they are Space Black, Opal Blue, Signature Brown, and Luxe White. Pricing has not been confirmed yet, with the company saying that local prices will be announced as the device becomes available in different regions.
